Maximum mean SMD incidence of 2.78% was recorded in Tumkur district and disease ranged from 0 to 20%, where as Chikkamagalur district was free from wilt and SMD incidence. During the second year (2005–06), among the five districts viz., Bangalore rural, Mandya, Tumkur, Mysore and Chamarajanagar surveyed, maximum mean wilt incidence of 13.92% was recorded in Chamarajanagar district and disease incidence ranged from 0–65% and maximum mean SMD incidence of 10.93% was recorded in Tumkur district with a range of 0–40%. During the third year (2006–07), among the seven districts of southern Karnataka viz., Bangalore rural, Bangalore urban, Mandya, Mysore, Tumkur, Hassan and Kolar surveyed, maximum mean wilt incidence of8.13% was recorded in Bangalore urban district with a range of 0–96% where as Tumkur district was free from wilt incidence.
