Abstract

Aim

To determine the body mass index in children aged between 10–17 years and spread awareness about obesity and it's implications.

Objective

the objective of the study is to determine the body mass index and also the health issues related to obesity.

Background

Children become overweight and obese for a variety of reasons. The most common causes are genetic factors, lack of physical activity, unhealthy eating patterns, or a combination of these factors. Only in rare cases is being overweight caused by a medical condition such as a hormonal problem. Obese children are at risk for a number of conditions, including: High cholesterol, High blood pressure, Early heart disease, Diabetes, Bone problems, Skin conditions such as heat rash, fungal infections, and acne.

Method

Body mass index of children will be determined by knowing their height and weight.

Conclusion

there are various diseases and problems associated with obesity, especially in children. Due to this reason this study is about checking body mass index of the obese children.
