Materials and method This survey will be conducted among 50 pregnant women by providing a set of questions through a questionnaire Objective: This survey will be done to assess how the oral health is in pregnant women and to extend a awareness to women about the dental services during pregnancy. Background Pregnancy affects almost every aspect of a women's life including her oral health but very little is known. Pregnancy causes gingivitis, loose tooth, periodontitis, pregnancy oral tumor, and caries in the oral cavity. Some studies have found that the above diseases are more common in pregnant women. The estrogens and progesterone levels are increased in pregnant women; this hormonal change causes gingivitis and pregnancy granuloma. But diseases like periodontitis and dental caries are independent of the hormonal fluctuations. Reason The reason of this survey is to create awareness among pregnant women about oral health. Top | |
