The study was performed using Albino mice of either sex. Ethanolic extract of Aerva lanata was administered at a doses of 100mg/kg and 400mg/kg body weight (p.o). The elevated plus maze (EPM) and Light dark transition (LDT) tests were used to determine the anti-anxiety activity. The results of the present study demonstrated that the mice treated with the Aerva lanata (L.) extract produced significant anxiolytic effect in both the animal models of anxiety, when compared to the control group.
