Abstract

Plants are used in different traditional systems of medicine. Plants are used for the treatment of a variety of infectious and non-infectious ailments. A number of therapeutically potent secondary metabolites are present in the plant. Flavonoids are vital plant derived bioactive entity with many number of therapeutic efficacy. Malaria is one of the leading infectious diseases seen in the African and Asian countries. The treatment measures available are less efficacious due to the rapid development of drug resistance. The present study is aimed to find out the flavonoids having effect on malarial parasites, their possible mechanisms and screening methods.
