Effects of Green Tea intake and Flexible Exercise on Oxidative Stress and Catecholamines

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of green tea intake and flexibility exercise on oxidative stress and catecholamines. For this purpose, twenty women in their twenties in Seoul, Korea were selected as exercise group, green tea consumption and exercise group. Subjects were restricted from participating in other exercise programs and dietary control programs while participating in the program.
For this study, 20 women in their twenties were divided into exercise group, green tea consumption group and exercise group. Green tea intake and exercise group consumed 3 times a day of green tea and exercised 3 times per week. 2-3g of green tea leaves in 60–70° C water to drink. Exercise group did not take green tea and exercise program was applied to improve flexibility for 60 minutes three times per week. In the exercise program, green tea intake and exercise group and exercise group programs were performed with the same intensity and same program. Each experimental program was conducted for 8 weeks. PASW 18.0 statistical program was used on the pre-test and post-test data to identify the effect of 8 week treatment. Descriptive statistics was suggested for each measurement period and two way 2-way RGRM ANOVA was applied to find the interaction of the treatment effect. The significance level was set to be.05.
MDA (Malondialdehyde) showed non-significant interaction effect between EG and GEG with p>.05. SOD(Superoxide Dismutase) showed non-significant interaction effect between EG and GEG with p>.05. Epinephrine showed significant interaction effect between EG and GEG with p<.05. Norepinephrine showed non-significant interaction effect between EG and GEG with p>.05. Cortisol showed non-significant interaction effect between EG and GEG with p>.05.
It is necessary to study the oxidative stress associated with exercise. Also, it is necessary to study for the positive change of oxidative stress and catecholamine. Therefore, the results of this study are meaningful as a result of examining the oxidative stress and the change of catacholamines in the components of green tea and exercise
