HPTLC method was adopted to confirm the presence of these common secondary metabolites in the tested commercial herbal formulations. Results of the study clearly revealed that these 3 formulations contains flavonoids, 8 formulations contains phenolic acids and 5 contains xanthones. The developed HPTLC method can be employed for the routine investigations of flavonoids, phenolic acids and xanthones in these herbal formulations.
