Two solvents, acetone and acetonitrile and three adsorbents silica gel, alumina (neutral) and Florisil, were tested for the extraction of p-cyfluthrin and imidacloprid residues from tomato. Quantification of p-cyfluthrin was carried out using GLC fitted with Ni63-ECD detector and imidacloprid estimated by HPLC equipped with UV-VIS detector using C-18 column. Extraction by acetonitrile, partitioning with dichloromethane and florisil cleanup gave good recoveries (88–92%) for β-cyfluthrin. In case of imidacloprid, acetone extraction and silica gel cleanup gave recoveries (93–95%). Top Keywords β-cyfluthrin, imidacloprid, solvents, adsorbents, recovery. Top |
