Adsorption and desorption patterns of the herbicide alachlor in twelve soils having varying physico-chemical properties were studied. The laboratory experiments showed that herbicide adsorption and desorption in soils were predominantly influenced by the clay and organic carbon contents of the soil and hence a higher retention in these soils. Contribution of other soil parameters like pH, EC and CEC were insignificant on the adsorption and desorption phenomena of alachlor in soils. Top Keywords Alachlor, adsorption, desorption. Top |
