Stability Analysis in Chilli (Capsicum Annuum L.) Samnotra R. K., Sharma Arun, Neerja Gupta, Chopra Sandeep Division of Vegetable and Floriculture, SKUAST-J, Chatha, Jammu, 180 009 Online published on 21 April, 2012. Abstract Twenty fve genotypes of chilli collected from different parts of India were evaluated for yield and its components at three locations, Karllah, Poonch and Chatha during Kharif 2007–08 and 2008–09. Highly signifcant mean squares for genotypes, environments and genotype x environment interactions were recorded for days taken to frst red ripe fruit picking, number of fruits per plant, number of seeds per fruit and yield per plant indicating that both linear as well as non-linear components were important. Considering the over all performance of genotypes over environments, it was observed that hybrid CCH-3 was promising with stable performance for yield and other characters and can be recommended for general cultivation. The genotypes Punjab Guchhedar, S-2530, Sathi Khalra and Hapur Selection can be utilized in further breeding programme for earliness, number of fruits per plant, number of seeds per fruit and yield.
