Abstract The term furcation involvement refers to the invasion of the bifurcation and trifurcation of multi-rooted teeth by periodontal disease. One of the challenges in periodontal therapy is the management of furcationinvolved teeth which are characterized by concavities and ridges. Therefore predictable regeneration of lost periodontal tissues and successful long-term management of multi-rooted teeth with attachment loss extending into the furcation has been one of the greatest challenges to the dentist. This paper presents three different treatment modalities for furcation involved teeth. Top Keywords Furcation treatment, Root resection, Guided tissue regeneration, Tunneling. Top |
