Field screening of chickpea genotypes against Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner) Ramegowda G.K., Rachappa V., Patil R.K., Lingappa S. Department of Agricultural Entomology, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad - 580 005, Karnataka, India. Abstract Out of 24 genotypes screened against Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner), comprising ICC 506 (National Resistant Check) and A1 (Local Check), genotypes BG-1039, P-1772 B, L-550 and 86019 received minimum egg load and were at par with ICC-506 and superior to A1, which recorded 2.70 eggs per plant. Genotypes P-1772B recoded lowest i.e. 1.16 larvae per plant which was at par with Phule – G-95412 (1.32) and BGD-103 (1.38) which were statistically different from that of ICC 506 at flowering stage. Genotypes BGD-245, GNG-1000 and GBS-963 recorded significantly highest egg and larval loads. The pod damage was significantly less in Phule – G-92028 (13.32%) and P-1772 B (17.01%) and both were at par with the National check (12.48%). Genotypes GBS964 (55.62%) and BG-256 (52.84%) showed highest pod damage. Genotype Phule G-92028 out yielded all the genotypes. Genotypes Phule G-92028, P-1772 B and BG-1039 emerged as the resistant genotypes. Top | | |
