The mortality of pigeonpea plants was reduced to 22.8% when seed treated with apron 35 SD was grown on ridges and intercropped with mungbean. When individual practices adopted separately, intercropping of mungbean, was the most effective in reducing the disease followed by ridge sowing. The disease declined significantly over control when any two practices were combined together. Date of sowing had significant role on incidence of phytophthora blight of pigeonpea. Crop sown on 3rd June showed only 32.5% mortality of plants, which increased to 84.5% with delay in sowing to 18th August.
