A Fuzzy based Analysis for Indentifying Public Awarness in Renewable Energy Uses: A Case Study of Kolkata, India

Abstract

In the present study the general opinion of the students and common people regarding their idea about the renewable energy and its uses has been taken into consideration. The fuzzy rule based techniques have been used to analyze the result and it has already been presented how the general awareness about the renewable energy are obstructed and uses of nonrenewable energy is increasing with time in India. To verify the knowledge about the renewable energy, three common questions have been asked to the students and common people. They are about the renewable energy resources, optimal uses of renewable energy, and the power station. The data has been gathered from the 550 students and 450 common people in Kolkata. The study results show that most of the students acquire their knowledge about the renewable energy outside their regular text books. However, 30% of the common people are aware only the name of renewable energy. They do not possess any knowledge about the optimal uses of the renewable energy and about the power station. On the other hand, 40% of the common people have only knowledge about the renewable energy but they have not used renewable energy. We have collected data from 300 students in university level, 250 students in school level, and 450 common people. In addition, we have designed a fuzzy rule based data analysis model for the analysis of this 550 real data. Our fuzzy rule based model have classified these real data into three different groups depending upon some threshold boundary values and hence it makes a decision about the linkage of education on renewable energy.
