Interdisciplinary research – approach to bridge the gap

The social science study and research needs to address the basic problems of society and its remedy and to accomplish its goal, it has become necessary a scientific approach should be adopted in the teaching and research of social sciences.. The social structure has gone under tremendous change with respect to its values and adoptability to various socio- political changes particularly in context of Indian society. The disintegration of institutions like combined family, religious ethics and community binding. The Indian society in advent of new market and consumer driven priorities needs to be understood in own character more systematic way. This is not an easy job, in fact it needs the integration of various discipline of social fabric. The education being the foundation stone of social and personal development that focuses on the interdisciplinary teaching and research. Interdisciplinary teaching and research provides a new dialogue and communication manner which could result in new knowledge. It fills the huge gap between natural science and social science and shortening the distance among traditional disciplines. To make progress in bringing the disciplines together, it is necessary to have administrative support to develop specific research structure for interdisciplinary research.
